Boomerang
Visits QAM

An honoured guest at the
recent Open Cockpit Weekend on 5-6 July was Matthew Denning and his magnificent
CAC Boomerang VH-MHR. During his visit to Caloundra, Matt was presented with a
framed certificate to commemorate his 30 years membership of QAM. Matt began restoring
the Boomerang while he was still at school, and although he maintained his QAM
membership throughout the following years, the Boomerang is a private project
which culminated in a triumphant first flight on 14th February 2003. Matt's 28
year labour of love has been well covered in recent editions of "Classic
Wings Downunder" and "Flightpath". One of the more outstanding
aspects of the project was Matt's reverse engineering of the otherwise unavailable
Boomerang wings and the subsequent supply of wings to three other Boomerang projects.
QAM congratulates Matt for his skill, determination and his sense of history.
Matt's attention to detail continues to attract many accolades, all of which are
richly deserved.
