Membership
& Volunteering
To volunteer at
the Queensland Air Museum you need to be a member. Membership
is available to anyone with an interest in aviation. Members meet
regularly in Caloundra and in Brisbane. A bi-monthly newsletter
is issued to all members. Although aviation skills are most welcome,
this is not a requirement. Indeed our greatest need is for members
to staff the front desk and act as tour guides. Inability to attend
meetings should not be a deterrent to joining as the Museum has
members from most states of Australia and from overseas.
During 2005, QAM created a Youth Training
Scheme with the aim of introducing younger members to the
Museum while providing them with basic trade skills. The course
also provides students with a background on aviation history.
The course is an ideal preparation for entering formal aviation
industry training institutions.
